IDi
IDI is a native structural gene of MVA pathway,it encodes Isopentenyl-diphosphate delta-Isomerase, which involved in the biosynthesis of isoprenoids, including our final product α-pinene. Specifically, it catalyzes the 1,3-allylic rearrangement of the homoallylic substrate isopentenyl (IPP) to its highly electrophilic allylic isomer dimethylallyl diphosphat(DMAPP). This is a reversible reaction, which means presence of IDI can help maintain a balance of concentration between IPP and DMAPP.
